The method involves converting the kinetic energy into heat energy and storing in a thermo-chemical heat storage unit (2) that is provided as an adsorption storage element. A storage medium is provided as an adsorption agent for adsorbing other substances on the release of heat energy, and also for desorbing on receiving the heat energy. A working medium, such as water can be adsorbed or desorbed from the adsorption agent. The storage medium is selected from clay minerals, metal oxides, silicates, aluminosilicates, particularly zeolites, and silica gels.
