The driving apparatus (1) has a side wall (7) that is formed between two spaced-apart headers (3,4). The side wall defines a drive chamber (5) which is controlled by a drive fluid subjected to a relative drive movement between two headers. The bent flexible property exhibiting sensors (25,26) are supported at the side wall using supporting unit (28) for detecting relative position of two headers. The supporting unit has supporting locations (31) that are arranged in axis direction of major axis (8) with spacing in the drive chamber.
