The generator (1) has a tubular pressure chamber (3) filled with gas e.g. helium, and comprising an interface (4) with which the chamber is connected with a pyrotechnic device (2), where the gas flows out of the chamber by activation of the pyrotechnic device. The chamber comprises a pressure chamber portion (5), which is adjacent to the interface within a profile of the chamber. The pressure chamber portion changes in a direction (R) within the profile of the chamber. The chamber is designed as a pulled pipe with a circular cross-section. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
