The device has positive temperature coefficient (PTC) elements producing heat, which is guided into heat exchangers (2). Heating units (3) comprise a housing (4) in which the PTC elements are arranged. A side of the heating units comprises contact elements (5a) i.e. pins. The heating units are electrical conductively connected to each other over the contact elements. The contact elements are electrical conductively connected with a contact path. An electrical insulation part is arranged between the path and the housing. The contact elements run in electrically insulating components (6a, 6b).
