The seat (1) has a seatback (5) attached to a rear portion (4) of a seat element (3) with respect to operation position of the seat. A footplate (2) is pivotably mounted at the rear portion of the seat element between a stowed position and a use position by using a four-joint arrangement (6). A top surface (7) of the footplate partially runs along a rear side (8) of the seatback in the stowed position, and is utilized as a foot rest in the use position. The four-joint arrangement comprises two rocker arms (9) supported over joints (10, 11) at the seat element and the footplate, respectively.
