The method involves producing a layer (25) of a cushion element (10) partially from foam material i.e. polyurethane, and partially from fibers (26) of a randomly oriented fiber element i.e. spacer knitted fabric, and a three-dimensional textile element i.e. non-woven fabric. Interstices (24) are formed between supporting elements (20), where the fibers are arranged in a part of the interstices by applying high or low pressure. The foam material is brought into clearances by applying the low or high pressure. The fibers are stuck together by partial melting of the foam material.
