The electrochemical system in the form of equivalent circuit (12) is created, and model is described using model function in frequency range. The model function in frequency domain is multiplied with excitation function in frequency domain to obtain model response in frequency domain. An impedance spectrum of electrochemical system is measured and parameter of model is determined by adjusting response with measured impedance spectrum. The model response in frequency domain is transformed to time domain to determine internal resistance (R) of electrochemical system.
