The roof module has a guide element (32) that is provided to adjust a cover portion (34) between an opening position and a closing position for opening and closing a roof opening portion (14). The guide element is provided in an absorbing region (38) which is provided with an energy absorption element (40). The energy absorption element is deformed during the indirect crash of the head of a vehicle occupant with energy dissipation. The guide element is made of aluminum material.
