The thermal wall comprises a coating layer (16) which consists of a filler material (7) and fixing elements for locking covering layers (1.1,1.2) parallel to a vacuum core insulation layer (6) during the manufacturing process. The filler material and the fixing elements are made of a thermally insulating foam material, particularly polyurethane foam. The fixing elements are formed as spacers (3) which are inserted at multiple locations between covering layers and the vacuum core insulation layer, such that the covering layers and vacuum core insulation layer are spaced apart. The two covering layers are made of multiple rectangular plate portions (2) which are interconnected by folds (4), where one fold of the former covering layer is arranged offset to the other fold of the latter covering layer. The spacers are located on each folds of the adjacent layers. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing the thermal wall.
