The method involves determining automatically actual picture information displayed by a display unit of a flight- and rescue control system. The actual picture information is compared with reference picture information. The automatic determination of the actual picture information is carried out optically by a camera, particularly by a digital camera. The reference picture information is transmitted to a dynamic display device by a data processing system. The reference picture information is automatically compared by the data processing system with the actual picture information. An independent claim is included for a dynamic display device with a monitoring unit.
