The roller has a cup-shaped housing (1) comprising a bearing cup (2), where bearing balls (3) are supported in the bearing cup. A ball (4) rests on the bearing balls, and a portion (5) of the ball protrudes through circular apertures (7, 9) of the housing, where a diameter of the apertures is smaller than a diameter of the ball. The ball is pressable against an edge of the one of the apertures and an annular disk-shaped braking body (8) by shifting a portion (10) of the bearing cup using turning restraining effect. The braking body is arranged below a housing cover (12).
