The medicinal heat exchanger (10) has a compressible and self-expandable receptacle (12) for a temperature control medium with a free edge (13) and two flexible, film-like walls (14a), which are connected to the edges in a fluid-tight manner for forming a receiving space (15) for the tempering medium and to form the contact surfaces for the heat transfer. The medicinal heat exchanger is connected with a supply line (11) for supplying the temperature control medium and has a contact surface for heat transfer between the temperature control medium and the blood. An independent claim is included for an arrangement with a heat exchanger and a catheter.
