The device has an engaging end portion (20) movable along a movement axis (28), and an anchor unit for exerting a force on a coil unit (10), where the anchor unit includes a plunger portion (13) and a permanent magnet (14). A mechanical latch unit (23) locks the anchor unit when the exerting force exceeds a predetermined value, and unlocks the anchor unit when the force is below the predetermined value. The latch unit cooperates with a detent portion (26) of the anchor unit, where the latch unit is operated by a reaction force of the anchor unit.
