The display device has a display unit for displaying several dynamic variables (22,23) relating fuel consumption for vehicle. A selection module is provided for selecting specific variable based on operating mode of vehicle. A computing device is arranged for determining selected variable of vehicle. The selected vehicle variable is retrieved to sensor through interface and is displayed on the display unit. An independent claim is included for method for preparation of vehicle variables of motor vehicle.
