The chain milling unit has deflecting portions (5,6) which are arranged rotatably on frame (8) with longitudinal axis. A working unit (2) is arranged around the deflection portion and milling tools (4) are moved together with the circulating medium along its moving direction. The cutting tools having a working end and a support end, are arranged on the circulation unit. The recirculating units are located between work end of tool holder and longitudinal axis and are oriented differently with respect to longitudinal axes of milling tools. An independent claim is included for a method of processing concrete and/or hard rock.
