The method involves adding border transfer delay and additional delay of the transmitting network node (S), transmitting/receiving network nodes (R1,R2) and receiving network node (R). The local total delay time along the transmission paths (1-3), is determined based on the addition of border transfer delay and additional delay. The timestamp of the network is formed by using local total delay time. An independent claim is included for network node for generating timestamp in wireless sensor network.
