The device has stack with storage cell (4), an air electrode (6) which communicates with an air supply device (20), and a storage electrode (10). The storage electrode bordering on adjacent channels (12) contains storage medium (9) and a water vapor-hydrogen mixture. A reservoir is provided for storing steam-hydrogen with which the channels are in direct communication. The reservoir is thermally insulated at outer side.
