The double-row drying group (3) has two drying cylinder rows (R1,R2) for alternately guiding the material web on the drying cylinders (TZ1-TZ3). The guide rolls (4,5) and coverings (6,7) are arranged between the drying cylinders. The spacings (L1,L2) between the rotational axes (R4,R5) of guide rolls and rotational axes (RA1,RA2) of drying cylinders are set in the range between 80-350 mm. The portion of the external periphery (12) of the guide roll (4) is enclosed by the inside portion (6I) of the covering (6).
