Method for assisting driver during driving vehicle on highway, involves detecting and classifying optical and acoustic environment information, and adjusting variably vehicle parameter adjusted based on classification results
The method involves detecting and classifying optical and acoustic environment information by an optical detecting unit (3.1) and an acoustic detecting unit (3.2). A vehicle parameter is variably adjusted based on classification results (K1-Kn), where the parameter is an autonomous- or semi-autonomous vehicle longitudinal control and/or an autonomous- or semi-autonomous vehicle lateral control and/or situation-dependent driving instructions provided to a driver. The parameter concerning a vehicle lighting- and/or vehicle driver warning device is variably adjusted based on the results. The optical detecting unit is designed as a mono camera, stereo camera, Lidar sensor, a radar detector and an ultrasonic sensor. The acoustic detecting unit is designed as a microphone. An independent claim is also included for a device for assisting a driver during driving a vehicle.
