The method involves monitoring a switch (52) e.g. force-sensitive resistor, to determine whether the switch is provided in an activated state in which a contact force is not exerted on a contact surface or in a deactivated state in which the contact force is exerted on the contact surface. The contact force is received at the contact surface. The switch is deactivated in response to the received contact force at the contact surface. A haptic feedback device (44) is activated to displace the contact surface in response to deactivation of the switch in vibration. The haptic feedback device is an eccentric rotary mass vibrator and a piezoelectric element.
