The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for treating keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as the hair, comprising : - one or more quaternary ammonium salts comprising one or more ester functions, and - one or more water-soluble salts of divalent metal s in a total content of at least 1.5% by weight, relative to the total weight of the said cosmetic composition, and - an amount of water which i s greater than or equal to 5% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition. The present invention al so relates to a cosmetic process for treating keratin fibres, and al so to a use employing the said cosmetic composition.
