The lock has an adapter (69) equipped with a hook (73) to hang a strike secured to fixed and movable structures. A handle or trigger has an upper surface to outcrop an aerodynamic surface i.e. skin, of vehicle. An adjustment device adjusts outcropping of the upper surface relative to the aerodynamic surface. The device has a clamp (121) including side plates (123), and a protuberance and an upper plate (127) are arranged on one of the plates. A screw (129) is screwed and unscrewed in a thread of a cavity of adapter. Head (131) of the screw is supported against the upper plate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for assembling a pawl lock (2) a method for adjusting outcropping of upper surface of handle of pawl lock.
