The device (10) has a set of walls (15A, 15B), and a heat source (11) e.g. endogenous source, that is utilized for exchanging heat with fluid. A measuring unit is utilized for measuring heat flow surrounding the heat source to measure the heat flow transmitted or received by the heat source in all dimensions of space. The measurement unit has an overall cylindrical form, and includes a set of flow meters (12A-12C) in the form of two plane disks. The fluid is subjected to boiling, evaporation or condensation, and the source is presented in the form of a film. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for measurement of heat flow (2) a method for analysis of heat flow.
