The method involves obtaining specification of an objective of a transaction by a transaction server (SVT) through one of three communications. The first communication includes the specification, and the second communication includes a reference to the specification received beforehand by the server. The third communication is received in a given time interval with respect to a fourth communication coming from a payment point (PP) associated with a selling party, where the third communication includes the specification accompanied by an identifier (IDpp) of the payment point. The specification is established by an individual (P) using a communication device (DC) e.g. smart phone and personal digital assistant. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for carrying out a transaction (2) a program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for defining a transaction to be carried out and/or a method for carrying out the transaction (3) a system for defining a transaction to be carried out.
