The seat (2) has a backrest attached to a base. A mount (10) is fixed under the base intended to rest directly or indirectly on a floor (6) of a vehicle. A positioning device (20) i.e. cockpit, includes a lifting unit conceived to move the base between a low position in which the mount rests directly or indirectly on the floor of the vehicle, and a high position in which the mount is elevated compared to the floor of the vehicle. A pivoting unit of the positioning device is conceived to pivot the base around a pivot axis when the base is positioned in the high position.
