The device has an onboard network (RdB) to which electrical consumers are connected. A battery (14) supplies power to the onboard network and to a starting/restarting module (12) e.g. alternator starter or starter, of a thermal engine. A maintenance device (16) maintains voltage of the onboard network. A direct current (DC) to DC voltage converter (18) is integrated to the maintenance device, and a commutation unit is adapted to isolate the onboard network from the battery during starting and restarting phases of a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a hybrid car.
