The device has a maintenance unit i.e. U-shaped jaw, on a frame (1) for maintaining a spectacle frame (11) such that a branch (11.2) is in folded position. A tool (8) i.e. paving stone, is mounted on a movable rack that is connected to the frame such that the tool is moved between a working position in which the tool is applied against an abutment zone and a control position in which the tool is retracted to authorize relative displacement of a frontal part (11.1) and the branch until to reach an open position of the branch.
