Method for driving e.g. catamaran, involves taking sum of moments of aerodynamic, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic forces with respect to support point to be zero in absence of angular acceleration around longitudinal axis of hull
The method involves placing a kite and an aerodynamic force application point under wind of a support point. A unit is operated such that the force generates a stabilizing moment. A main lift appendix (8) is partially immersed while being tilted such that a free end of the appendix is placed opposite to direction of the force so that a hull (1) takes off water surface by the force and a hydrodynamic force. Sum of moments of aerodynamic, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic forces taken relative to the support point is zero in absence of angular acceleration around a longitudinal axis of the hull. An independent claim is also included for a floating equipment.
