The method involves performing programming in a separate programming unit (4) to display messages and parameters for selection of messages followed by implanting process on a display panel. Operation of radar measurement and a control unit is stimulated, and a result of simulation is displayed on the display panel after selecting the parameters to be applied while programming. A signal identical with or similar to radar is generated and input to the control unit located on the separate programming unit. An independent claim is also included for a unit for performing a method to control a display panel coupled to a speed measuring device of a vehicle.
