The process comprises coating a periphery of cams (3) with a precursor paste of a dry lubricant film (42), and solidifying the precursor paste so as to form the dry lubricant film. The cams are designed to be fixed on a camshaft (1), which includes a single-piece shaft (2). The precursor paste is coated in a groove that extends around the periphery of the cam and is delimited by two lateral edges. The groove has a depth of 5-50 mm. An external part of two lateral edges of the cam is chamfered after the solidifying step. The solidifying step is performed by firing the precursor paste. The process comprises coating a periphery of cams (3) with a precursor paste of a dry lubricant film (42), and solidifying the precursor paste so as to form the dry lubricant film. The cams are designed to be fixed on a camshaft (1), which includes a single-piece shaft (2).
