The method involves providing a blank that comprises a massive and/or three-dimensional form. A strand of reinforced fibers impregnated with thermoplastic resin is wound in surplus quantity. A preform is stamped to provide a desired form while evacuating surplus resin. The stamped preform is cooled by maintaining the stamped preform under pressure along with the blank. A winding tool (16) is arranged with a plate (13) for winding the strand.
