Cosmetic aqueous pigment dispersion comprises: at least a pigment comprising a metallic oxide, preferably titanium oxide and/or iron oxide; at least suspending agent of an anionic polysaccharide type; a dispersing agent comprising citric acid, gluconic acid, phytic acid and/or sodium hexametaphosphate; and water and glycerin, where the weight ratio of water is more than 1.1 compared to glycerin. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparing the cosmetic composition comprising introducing the aqueous pigment dispersion into the aqueous phase of the cosmetic composition, and mixing the aqueous phase with a fatty phase of the cosmetic composition; and (2) preparing the aqueous pigment dispersion comprising mixing the pigment, the suspending agent, the dispersing agent, water and glycerin, where the suspending agent is added to a mixture comprising the pigment and the dispersing agent.
