The mop has a rigid sole secured to a distal end of a handle (1) by a hinge, and a spongy washing pad (4) pressed against a lower planar face (2a) of the sole. A tilting assembly including the sole with the washing pad occupies a washing position in which the assembly is positioned perpendicular or inclined with respect to an axis of the handle, and a drying position in which the assembly is placed parallel to the handle. A drying module (10) movable along the bottom of the handle exerts pressure on an outer face of the washing pad during movement of the assembly. An independent claim is also included for a method for drying the spongy washing pad.
