The seat (1) has a backrest (2) to be folded against a base (3). A locking mechanism is utilized for locking the backrest and the base in usage position and in folded position, where kinematics of the seat allows moving the locking mechanism. An elastic protective barrier (10) i.e. elastic band, is arranged on a side of the seat, and is adapted to be deformed by the seat so as to protect the locking mechanism during its movement.
