The apparatus (1) has a frame (2), a seat (3), and pedals (4). The frame includes two circular flanges (6) centered on an axis of the pedal and situated at a distance from each other, and a set of tubes (7) of square or rectangular cross-section inserted between the flanges and connected to the flanges. One of the set of tubes forms a support for the seat, and another set of tubes (10-15) forms a positioning structure of the apparatus with respect to a swimming pool. A handlebar (5) is mounted on one of the former set of tubes and connected to the flanges.
