The method involves emitting a control signal for a wheel assembly (13) that is adapted to activate a determined operating mode for the assembly, where the emitted control signal consists of pneumatic waves and the pneumatic control signal is generated by an external tool (14) adapted to cause displacement of the pneumatic waves detectable by a pressure sensor (17) of a coil assembly. The pneumatic control signal is received by the assembly for activation of the determined operating mode, where the pneumatic signal includes pressure changes defining a coded signal.
