The device (D) has a reinforcement (AS) that consists of a part of a back seat (S2). The reinforcement comprises two L-shaped side bars (BL) on which a transverse wind deflector (FA) is mounted. A transverse bar (BT) is utilized for connecting a set of upper ends of the side bars. The transverse bar rotates on a part of a vehicle i.e. convertible, to allow placement of the reinforcement either in a folded back position, or in a rectified position in which the wind deflector is placed behind a front seat (S1) in an upper position. An independent claim is also included for a car.
