The tensioner (5) has a tension element (52) mounted to move with respect to a cylindrical body (51). A damping device i.e. pad, is adapted to dampen displacements of the tension element by dry friction with the body. A heat exchanger (6) exchanges heat between the tensioner and ambient air by convection. The exchanger is connected on the body, where the exchanger and the body are formed from single piece. The exchanger comprises fins (61-63) made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. The fins are distributed radially on entire or portion of the body. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
