The method comprises estimating a position of the receiver (4), disposed on a mobile, from the navigation signals emitted by satellites (51, 52, 5n) received by an antenna of an antenna array placed on the mobile and to use a three-dimensional geographical map to deduce, geometrically, from the position of the receiver (4) and a ray launching from the receiver, the number of reflected paths (15d) on the walls of buildings ( 12a, 12b) present in a scene corresponding to an environment surrounding the receiver (4). The number of reflected paths thus determined is used to initialize an algorithm for estimating multipath arrival angles making it possible to deduce the arrival angles of the paths reflected on the walls before reaching the receiver (4). . Optionally, the method may further comprise a step for limiting the distance information error due to a multipath in order to make the arrival direction estimation of the signals more efficient. The invention applies to a satellite positioning system.
