The device (1) has a light source comprising a laser diode and a diffusion screen (11) on which an image produced from the light source is formed. The diffusion screen is secured to an electro active element (13) made of polymeric material, where the element is arranged to generate movement of the diffusion screen. A laser scanning projector (2) generates a coherent light beam (3) forming the image on the diffusion screen. A case (31) houses the projector, and the diffusion screen is separated from the case and connected to the case through the electro active element. An independent claim is also included for a head up display system.
