The blade (1) has a crimping gimlet (5) allowing, during its displacement, to fold up an edge (2a) of a sheet metal part (2) on an edge (3a) of another sheet metal part (3) by deformation. An elastic steel blade (6) is provided in front of the crimping gimlet with respect to a displacement direction of the crimping blade, where the elastic blade is supported on the edge of the latter sheet metal part, to exert a predetermined force. The elastic blade includes an end (6a) fixed to the crimping blade, and another end (6b) intended to rest and rub against the edge of the latter sheet metal part. An independent claim is also included for a crimping installation.
