摘要

The method involves gradually saturating a fibrous preform (13) by impregnation fluid i.e. silicone oil, and emitting and receiving an ultrasound signal by ultrasound sensors (21-23). Flight time of the ultrasound signal corresponding to a time required to the signal is measured for traversing to and return of the signal in a section (33) of the fibrous perform. A saturation speed of the fibrous preform is estimated according to the flight time, amplitude of the emitted ultrasound signal, amplitude of the received ultrasound signal and a thickness of the preform. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining a fiber level of a fibrous perform.
