The assembly has a tibial base fixed on an upper end of a tibia, and tibia plateau mounted on the tibial base. A femoral component (4) is fixed on a lower end of a femur, and includes two lateral condyles (14, 15) respectively arranged to cooperate with concave surfaces of the tibial plateau. An intercondylar bar (5) is mounted on the lateral condyles. A tibial stud mounted on the tibial base includes a posterior stabilization portion to be inserted into an intercondylar portion (16) and to cooperate with the intercondylar bar in a use condition of the knee prosthesis.
