The system (30) has an abutment (160, 161) for participating in a channel of a respective actuation valve. A rod (20) comprises two recesses (21, 22) on periphery corresponding to the abutment. The rod is rotated around an axis in an angular position of the rod. The rod locks the abutment in a receiving direction on a solid portion of the rod, and in another angular position of the rod. The rod unlatches the abutment by receiving the rod in one of the recesses. The former recess is diametrically opposite to the other recess. A full part is diametrically opposite to the latter recess. An independent claim is also included for a method for actuating a valve of a combustion engine.
