The assembly (10) has a housing (14) filled with a hydraulic oil (16), and a strainer (18) partially immersed in the hydraulic oil. A pump (20) is supplied with the oil through the strainer. The strainer includes a housing (22) provided with a low permeable filter element, and defining a lower chamber (26) and an upper chamber (28). The strainer includes a passage (38) interposed between the lower and upper chambers, and a high permeable filter element (40) to be selectively closed by a valve (42) to permit passage of hydraulic oil when the low permeable filter element is clogged.
