The device has a rigid, semi-rigid or flexible bonnet (1) struggled between a covering position of a passenger compartment of a vehicle and a retracted position in a back of the passenger compartment. An external face and an inner face (3) are arranged with respect to the passenger compartment in the covering position. A handle (6) is fixed on the inner face of the bonnet at a position intended to be accessible to a passenger sitting in the passenger compartment from the vehicle. The handle is formed to be seized by the passenger to move the bonnet between the covering and retracted positions.
