Hardened microalloyed bainitic steel comprises 0.06-0.18 wt.% of carbon (C), 0.01-0.60 wt.% of silicon (Si), 0.10-3 wt.% of manganese (Mn), 0.001-0.030 wt.% of sulfur (S), 0.001 -0.40 wt.% of copper (Cu), 0.001-0.40 wt.% of nickel (Ni), 0.10-2 wt.% of chromium (Cr), 0.01-1 wt.% of molybdenum (Mo), 0.20-0.45 wt.% of vanadium (V) and balance of iron (Fe) and incidental impurities. Hardened microalloyed bainitic steel comprises 0.06-0.18 wt.% of carbon (C), 0.01-0.60 wt.% of silicon (Si), 0.10-3 wt.% of manganese (Mn), 0.001-0.030 wt.% of sulfur (S), 0.001 -0.40 wt.% of copper (Cu), 0.001-0.40 wt.% of nickel (Ni), 0.10-2 wt.% of chromium (Cr), 0.01-1 wt.% of molybdenum (Mo), 0.20-0.45 wt.% of vanadium (V) and balance of iron (Fe) and incidental impurities. A value of expression of 15x [C]-[Mo]-2x V (1) is = 1.4. A value of expression of 4x [C]+[Si]+4x [Mn]+[Cu]+[Ni]+5x [Cr]+4x [Mo]+5x [V] (2) is = 16.5. A value of expression of 3x [C]+10x [Mn]+2x [Cu]+2x [Ni]+12x [Cr]+9x [Mo]+2x [V] (3) is 20-35.
