A floor covering, having sustainable slip resistance, comprising clear polymer layers and aggregate particles

The floor covering comprises at least two clear polymer layers 10, 6, and particles 12 of an aggregate material, having an average particle size of 0.05mm to 1.0mm, located between and/or within the polymer layers. These polymer layers each have a gauge of 0.1mm to 1.0mm. The polymer layers are preferably transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The multi-layered floor covering might also contain a decorative layer 8 to provide the required appearance, a backing 4, an emboss layer 14 and a polyurethane coating 16 containing micro-aggregate. The floor covering is produced by heating the polymer layers, held under tension, and applying particles to one layer before contact the layers under heat (150-190°C) and pressure.
