PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method which is capable of accurately searching for three-dimensional data without requiring prior learning with a large quantity of data.;SOLUTION: A plurality of voxels in a voxel representation generated from a three-dimensional object are sequentially extracted as a plurality of voxel portions by a prescribed window. Each of the second and following extracted voxel portions is caused to partially overlap with one of voxel portions extracted before it. A first feature quantity is obtained from a plurality of spectra obtained by applying three-dimensional Fourier transform to each voxel portion. The three-dimensional object is projected on a two-dimensional image by a depth buffer method, so that the more the difference in density of pixels is emphasized the farther the pixels are from the center of the two-dimensional image. A second feature quantity is obtained from spectra obtained by applying two-dimensional Fourier transform to the two-dimensional image. The fist feature quantity and the second feature quantity are combined to obtain a feature quantity, and the feature quantity is compared with a preliminarily obtained feature quantity of a three-dimensional object model to determine the similarity between the three-dimensional object and the three-dimensional object model.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
