PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to automatically generate estimation of hardware configuration which satisfies user requirements, and calculate specifications including hardware selection appropriate for sizing, by developing and evaluating a customer system on a virtual system.SOLUTION: A hardware configuration estimation system comprises information collection means which generates virtual machines for building a virtual system operating an application and executes the application on the virtual system to collect a performance measurement result of resources configuring the virtual system, a physical/virtual performance ratio database which stores a performance ratio of the resources in a physical system and the virtual system, a product database which stores hardware specification information, and configuration information creation means which estimates specifications of resources configuring the physical system on the basis of the performance measurement result and the performance ratio, and generates hardware configuration information on the basis of the specifications of resources and the hardware specification information.
